Engineering Data Solutions

Engineering evidence for infrastructure that must be designed, approved, constructed, and handed over.

Engineering Data Solutions is an engineering services company based in Kigali, Rwanda. We deliver field survey, GIS, electrical network design, transmission and substation support, civil engineering, AEC/BIM support, industrial plumbing and wastewater management, utility-project design, site preparation, construction supervision, QA, reporting, and handover documentation.

The company is built for infrastructure work where measured site facts, constructible design, authority comments, quantities, construction checks, and final records must remain connected from the first survey point to the final handover pack.

Our Story

Engineering Data Solutions began in 2014 as Advanced Engineering Solutions, a Rwanda-registered engineering company working with BIM, GIS, survey, and infrastructure design. The early work was practical: map what exists, model what must be built, and produce drawings that a client, contractor, and authority can actually use.

In 2017 the company expanded into transmission-line, distribution-network, and substation assignments in the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Those projects sharpened the discipline: line routes had to follow real terrain, towers had to be staked precisely, foundations had to respond to actual support reactions, substation grading had to respect difficult access, and construction teams needed technical support when drawings met the site.

The same discipline later carried into Rwanda distribution networks, Chad electrification studies, industrial facility utilities, airport hangar structural work, irrigation power-supply studies, and construction supervision. The scope widened, but the operating lesson stayed the same: infrastructure delivery fails when field evidence, design decisions, quantities, approvals, and handover records drift apart.

That is the meaning of “data” in Engineering Data Solutions: surveyed coordinates, terrain, customers, routes, structures, photos, calculations, quantities, comments, revisions, approvals, and as-built evidence kept organized enough for the project to move.

Measure carefully. Design practically. Supervise with evidence. Handover with confidence.

Mission, Vision, and Working Values

Our mission is to deliver accurate, constructible, and cost-conscious engineering services that help infrastructure projects move faster without losing technical control.

Our vision is to be a trusted African engineering services company for power, civil, industrial utility, geospatial, and construction-support assignments where quality, speed, and traceability matter.

Excellence

We aim for clear calculations, reliable survey control, useful drawings, complete quantities, and deliverables that can pass review.

Integrity

We keep records traceable, raise technical risks early, and avoid hiding field uncertainty inside polished drawings.

Innovation

We use BIM, GIS, PLS-CADD, Civil 3D, Revit, Dynamo, Robot, cloud tools, and automation where they improve engineering delivery.

Collaboration

We work with clients, EPC contractors, consultants, utilities, authorities, and field teams so design decisions can survive real project constraints.

Commitment

We build teams around compressed schedules, difficult access, and changing client priorities without treating quality as optional.

Training

We develop local engineers, technicians, surveyors, and GIS/CAD staff through real assignments, mentorship, and practical project responsibility.

Registration and Operating Basis

Engineering Data Solutions is a Rwanda-registered private company limited by shares, registered on 02 April 2014 under company code 103252642. The registered office is in Muhima Sector, Nyarugenge District, City of Kigali, Rwanda.

The company’s registered business activities support a full engineering and construction-services offer: construction of utility projects, other civil engineering projects, roads, buildings, site preparation, electrical installation, plumbing and mechanical installation, water and sewerage interfaces, waste-management and remediation activities, building completion, and specialized construction work.

For procurement and due diligence, current statutory documents such as tax clearance, social security contribution clearance, registration certificate, address confirmation, and personnel documentation can be provided through the formal submission pack requested by the client.

What We Deliver

Engineering Data Solutions is built for assignments where field logistics, survey control, design logic, approvals, construction checks, and handover must stay connected. The offer is not one isolated service. It is an engineering delivery chain that can be scaled for a route survey, a distribution package, a substation interface, a factory utility system, a structural design task, or a multi-district electrification programme.

How We Work

We organize delivery around the full project chain, not around isolated files. That operating model comes from assignments where survey, GIS, engineering, client approval, procurement, construction, and handover had to move in the same sequence under real schedule pressure.

Capture Once, Use Through Design

Field teams move in the construction order confirmed by the client, utility, or EPC contractor, but the data model is fixed from day one. Routes, assets, consumers, photos, approvals, drawing references, and corrections are treated as connected records, not as separate office files.

1. Mobilize and Align

Confirm scope, methodology, local technical code, HSE requirements, access conditions, authority interfaces, and the first work areas.

2. Establish Control

Set geodetic control, validate route corridors, georeference cadastral and topographic inputs, and capture terrain or obstacle data needed downstream.

3. Survey and Tag

Capture MV/LV routes, poles, transformers, service drops, consumers, site conditions, photos, asset status, and local constraints using controlled forms.

4. Design and Check

Convert survey records into network models, plans, profiles, pole schedules, quantities, single-line diagrams, load and clearance checks, and design corrections.

5. Approve and Handover

Submit drawings and reports, manage correction cycles, support reception tests, update as-built records, and deliver final documentation in the confirmed formats.

Survey first. Design with evidence. Handover with confidence.

Survey-to-Construction Discipline

Our delivery work is deliberately evidence-led because field mistakes become design and construction mistakes when the chain is weak. An existing pole missed during survey, a consumer detached from a feeder, a route correction made in one file, or a site-photo folder with no feature reference can all create avoidable rework later.

For distribution and reinforcement work, connectivity matters at the source. Pole-to-pole, transformer-to-feeder, and service-drop relationships should be captured as close to the field condition as possible, then reviewed and improved in the office. That is how survey stops being a pile of points and starts becoming an engineering model.

Engineering Data Solutions works this way because infrastructure delivery is not protected by drawings alone. It is protected by disciplined field method, survey control, checked geometry, named assets, drawing references, correction logs, and handover records that can still be trusted when the project moves from design desk to construction site.

Engineering Data Solutions owns the field method, QA process, design logic, approval response, construction support, and final deliverables.

Quality, HSE, and Local Code

Engineering Data Solutions treats QA as a workflow, not a final clean-up task. The objective is to catch incomplete records, wrong identifiers, missing attributes, geometry errors, and approval mismatches before they travel into procurement or construction.

Key controls include:

No orphan drawings. No anonymous corrections. No handover panic.

What These Projects Prove

The common thread is not only geography or voltage level. It is the ability to run disciplined field operations, turn measured data into engineering outputs, and keep client deliverables consistent under real schedule pressure.

Project Organization and Resourcing

We scale teams around the assignment sequence. A dense consumer survey, a transmission corridor, a substation interface, and a reinforcement programme do not use the same crew shape, but they all need clear ownership.

Typical project roles include:

At company-profile stage, the point is delivery capacity: the right disciplines, the right workflow, and the right accountability structure. Individual personnel profiles can follow when a tender or client review asks for named staff.

Civil and Engineering Capacity

The core capacity is civil and infrastructure engineering: survey crews that understand construction consequences, GIS and CAD engineers who can turn field evidence into approval-ready drawings, and project leads who can keep scope, standards, comments, and handover aligned under pressure.

We bring practical capacity in:

The offer is engineering delivery: measured site facts, buildable design outputs, disciplined supervision, and accountable handover.
