Engineering Data Solutions
Engineering evidence for infrastructure that must be designed, approved, constructed and handed over.
Engineering Data Solutions is an engineering services company based in Kigali, Rwanda. We deliver field survey, GIS, LV distribution design with voltage-drop compliance, MV and HV line engineering, substation and civil interfaces, AEC/BIM, industrial plumbing and wastewater, construction supervision, QA and handover documentation.
Our engineers work on the Data Solutions platform, where AI agents carry the repeatable work through governed commands. Measured site facts, constructible design, checks, quantities, drawings and final records stay connected from the first survey point to the handover pack, and every deliverable is reviewed and signed by a named engineer.
Our Story
Engineering Data Solutions began in 2014 as Advanced Engineering Solutions, a Rwanda-registered company working with BIM, GIS, survey and infrastructure design. The early work was practical: map what exists, model what must be built, and produce drawings that a client, contractor and authority can actually use.
From 2017 the company took on transmission-line, distribution-network and substation assignments in the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Line routes had to follow real terrain, towers had to be staked precisely, foundations had to answer actual support reactions, and construction teams needed support when drawings met the site.
The same discipline carried into distribution networks in Rwanda, electrification studies in Chad, industrial utilities, large-span structures and construction supervision. The lesson stayed the same: delivery fails when field evidence, design decisions, quantities, approvals and handover records drift apart. That lesson became the Data Solutions platform our own engineers now deliver on.
Measure carefully. Design practically. Supervise with evidence. Hand over with confidence.
Mission, Vision, and Working Values
Our mission is to deliver accurate, constructible and cost-conscious engineering services that help infrastructure projects move faster without losing technical control. Our vision is to be a trusted African engineering services company for power, civil, industrial-utility, geospatial and construction-support assignments where quality, speed and traceability matter.
Excellence
Clear calculations, reliable survey control, useful drawings and complete quantities that pass review.
Integrity
Traceable records, technical risks raised early, and field uncertainty never hidden inside polished drawings.
Innovation
BIM, GIS, line-design software, Civil 3D, Revit, Dynamo, Robot, cloud tools and AI agents, wherever they improve delivery.
Collaboration
Clients, EPC contractors, consultants, utilities, authorities and field teams aligned on decisions that survive real project constraints.
Commitment
Teams built for compressed schedules, difficult access and changing priorities, without treating quality as optional.
Training
Local engineers, technicians, surveyors and GIS/CAD staff developed through real assignments, mentorship and responsibility.
Registration and Operating Basis
Engineering Data Solutions is a Rwanda-registered private company limited by shares, established in 2014 and operating from Kigali. Its registered activities support a full engineering and construction-services offer: utility projects, civil engineering, roads, buildings, site preparation, electrical installation, plumbing and mechanical installation, water and sewerage, waste management and remediation, building completion and specialised construction.
We build transparent engineering data systems, and our own operations follow the same discipline: documented work, clean contracts, traceable delivery and compliant records.
Evidence on request. Client names, contract references, project quantities, drawings, screenshots and sample deliverables are shared in tender submissions and on request, under the confidentiality the procurement requires; named references only with the client's authorization. Registration evidence, compliance certificates and financial records follow the same private channel. None of them is published on this page.
What We Deliver
We deliver an engineering chain, not an isolated service: field logistics, survey control, design logic, checks, approvals, construction support and handover stay connected, whether the assignment is a route survey, a distribution package, a line corridor, a factory utility system or a multi-district electrification programme.

How We Work
Field teams move in the construction order confirmed by the client, utility or EPC contractor, but the data model is fixed from day one. Routes, assets, customers, photos, approvals, drawing references and corrections are connected records, not separate office files.
1. Mobilize and Align
Confirm scope, methodology, governing standards, HSE requirements, access conditions, authority interfaces and the first work areas.
2. Establish Control
Set geodetic control, validate corridors, georeference cadastral and topographic inputs, and capture the terrain and obstacles design needs.
3. Survey and Tag
Capture MV/LV routes, poles, transformers, service drops, customers, site conditions, photos and constraints with controlled forms.
4. Design and Check
Turn survey into network models, plans, profiles, schedules, quantities and single-line diagrams; check voltage at every customer and clearance at every surveyed point.
5. Approve and Hand Over
Submit drawings and reports, manage correction cycles, support reception tests, update as-built records and deliver in the confirmed formats.
Faster with AI, Owned by Engineers
Our engineers deliver on the Data Solutions platform, where AI agents drive the repeatable work through the same governed commands a person would use: spotting structures along MV lines, printing LV transformer sheets and MV plan-and-profile booklets with visual QA, running voltage drop, reconciling staking tables with BOQs and turning review comments into typed corrections. The same checks run the same way every time, drawing sets are regenerated whenever the design moves instead of being rebuilt by hand, and nothing is approved, published or issued without a named engineer's decision.
This pairing is our edge. The engineer brings intent and judgment, the AI brings speed with language and messy inputs (client spreadsheets, contractor GIS files, line-design backups), and the platform brings the engineering: tested calculations and encoded standards. Clients get precise deliverables without paying for years of tool mastery. We can customize the platform's workflows, domain rules and integrations around each client's delivery needs.
Survey first. Design with evidence. Hand over with confidence.
Quality, HSE, and Local Code
We treat QA as a workflow, not a final clean-up. Incomplete records, wrong identifiers, missing attributes, geometry errors and approval mismatches are caught before they travel into procurement or construction.
- Capture-time validation: required fields, formats, photos, accuracy thresholds and controlled values are checked while crews are still near the asset or customer.
- Office QA: topology, georeferencing, attribute completeness, duplicates, naming conventions and drawing references are reviewed before submission.
- Local-code alignment: project standards, utility templates and national requirements are the governing frame; international references apply where a project adopts them.
- Approval loops: comments, corrections and resubmissions are tracked against the affected records and deliverables.
- HSE and environment: field work follows the confirmed safety plan, environmental requirements, access constraints and authority instructions.
No orphan drawings. No anonymous corrections. No handover panic.

The common thread is not geography or voltage level. It is disciplined field operations, measured data turned into engineering outputs, and deliverables that stay consistent under real schedule pressure.
Project Organization and Resourcing
We scale teams around the assignment sequence. A dense customer survey, a line corridor, a substation interface and a reinforcement programme do not use the same crew shape, but they all need clear ownership:
- Project manager: client liaison, programme control, approvals, submissions and escalation, run on the project's own task and correspondence records.
- Survey lead and DGPS/topographic crews: control, network and site survey, route validation and stakeout.
- Customer and asset survey teams: scaled to the work sequence and trained on the project forms and access rules.
- GIS/CAD and design engineers: models, drawings, schedules, checks and submission packs, working with AI agents on the repeatable steps.
- QA/QC and HSE officers: validation, audits, safety compliance and field correction management.
Named personnel profiles follow when a tender or client review asks for them.
The offer is engineering delivery: measured site facts, buildable design outputs, disciplined supervision and accountable handover.
