Delete your Data Solutions account

Your account has been deleted. You have been signed out. You can close this page.

You can delete your Data Solutions account at any time, without reinstalling anything. One account signs you in to every Data Solutions app: DS GridDesign (web, Windows and Linux), DS Field on Android and the ds command line. Deleting it deletes it everywhere. This cannot be undone.

1. Delete your account in the app

• DS Field (Android): open Settings, choose Delete account, confirm, and the app signs you out.
• DS GridDesign (web, Windows or Linux): open Profile from the account menu, choose Delete account, type DELETE_MY_ACCOUNT to confirm, then Delete my account permanently.
• Command line: run ds account delete --yes on a machine signed in to the account.

2. Delete your account without the app

Open datasolutions.rw/account in any web browser, sign in with the account you want to delete, and choose Delete account. You do not need to install DS Field or DS GridDesign.

If you cannot sign in, email privacy@datasolutions.rw from the address of the account, with the subject "Account deletion request". We confirm that the request comes from the account holder and delete the account within 30 days.

3. What is deleted

• Your sign-in account and your profile: name, email address, phone number, photo, preferences and platform roles.
• Your personal notes, their attachments and reminders.
• Data files you uploaded to your own account (your personal map layers).
• Your notifications, push notification registrations and personal notification history.
• Your linked devices and device sign-ins.
• Your membership of every project, so no project lists you as a member any more.

Deletion takes effect immediately. Copies in our cloud provider's recovery storage (database point-in-time recovery, daily backups and file soft delete) expire automatically within 7 days.

4. What is kept

Projects belong to the organisations that run them, not to individual accounts. So that their engineering and survey records stay complete, deleting your account keeps:

• Project records you contributed to: survey entries, designs, reports, tasks, comments and documents in an organisation's projects stay with that project, with the author attribution recorded on them (for example the email address that submitted an entry).
• Messages you sent in project or direct conversations, which remain visible to the other participants.
• Security audit records of actions on the platform, kept for up to 365 days.
• Feedback reports you filed about the software itself, and installation licence records of DS GridDesign machines.
• A deletion receipt that proves the deletion happened. It holds a one-way hash of your account id and email address, the time and the counts of what was deleted, never the address itself.

Data saved on your own devices for offline use is removed when you sign out or uninstall the app. The organisation that runs a project can also ask us to remove records from that project.
